Climate & Repair Advocates

The CCW Climate Advocate programme has been running for a year. 10 advocates aligned to each programme, are in post. The role of the Climate Advocates is to support courses to embed the UAL climate, social and racial justice principles through the consultation with staff and students and co-design of curriculum projects.

CCW Climate Advocates talk about what they enjoy about their role most.

Some of the projects and activities ran by UAL Climate Advocates:

Auditing course handbooks

We will keep auditing all course handbooks every year, in order to collect the data that will enable us to understand where we are at the moment in relation to our objectives, and the speed at which change is happening.

Climate Emergency Network – a growing community of interest and concern, creative practice and action.

Emergency Film Night

Camberwell Repair Café– a UAL student-led effort to foster a culture of repair, which is often overlooked in our throwaway society. The repair café along with its repair advocates brings together volunteers and local residents in the community to creatively repair and refurbish household items and clothes that would otherwise end up in landfills

If you would like to become a volunteer or learn how to fix your belongings, contact repairadvocatesccw@arts.ac.uk or take a look at our Instagram: @camberwell_repair_cafe or Facebook: Camberwell Repair Café.
